Emily is an art historian, museum educator, and licensed tour guide who specializes in creating meaningful, transformative experiences in Italy. Through Arts & Italy, she helps travelers not only see Italy, but truly feel it—connecting them to the country’s art, history, and living culture with warmth, depth, and insider access.

A native English speaker, Emily grew up in the artistic, multicultural community of Santa Fe, New Mexico, before immersing herself in the art world of New York City. After more than a decade working in the curatorial departments of museums such as The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, and the Museum of Arts and Design, she followed a lifelong dream and made Italy her home. She now proudly calls the Eternal City her home, and travels throughout Italy, where history, art, and everyday life intertwine.

Emily holds a Master’s degree in Art History and Archaeology from the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University, as well as an Italian Master II in Museum Education from Università degli Studi Roma Tre. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Museum Education and Visitor-Centered Curation at Florida State University. Since 2013, she has taught art history, museum studies, and Italian culture for American university study-abroad programs throughout Italy, and collaborates with museums in Rome to design educational tours and creative workshops for adults, families, and school groups.

Rather than lecturing, she invites you into conversations, close looking, and moments of discovery—fostering your curiosity, creativity, and a deeper relationship with place. Her tours are adaptable and thoughtfully designed for travelers of all ages, including families with children and teens, couples, friends, and multigenerational groups.
